A gift through your will is one way to support Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh. A will is a technical document that should be drafted by an attorney, but may be revised, and updated as your wishes, philanthropic intentions, and circumstances change.

All assets including cash, securities, real estate, and tangible personal property, such as works of art, may be gifted to the campus through your estate.

A gift through your estate can be made in the following ways:

Features and Benefits
  1. The opportunity to support Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh while preserving assets during life
  2. Reduction in estate taxes

  1. Specific Bequest: The Bethel Foundation of Oshkosh receives a specific
dollar amount, piece of property, or a stated percentage of the estate. This
is one of the most popular forms of bequests.
  2. Residuary Bequest: The Bethel Foundation of Oshkosh will receive all or a stated percentage of an estate after distribution of specific bequests and payment of debts, taxes, and expenses.
  3. Contingent Bequest: The Bethel Foundation of Oshkosh will receive part or all of the estate under certain specified circumstances.
  4. Trust established under a will: A trust may be established that provides for both Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh and other beneficiaries.

Bequests by will may be designated for Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh’s current use or to establish an endowed fund for specific purposes such as our Blessed Assurance Endowment.

Since needs change over time, it is recommended that a specific purpose bequest be stated as a preference, with final determination of fund allocation left to the discretion of the Board of Trustees of the Bethel Foundation.
