Gifts to the Blessed Assurance Endowment help to assure access to care in LHO
facilities for residents who are not able to pay for the full cost of care, and to
bridge the gap between public assistance reimbursement and the actual cost of care.

Almost 60% of Bethel Home Residents have Medical Assistance (MA) as their payment source. This is the highest of any private not-for-profit nursing home in the area. In 2006, Bethel Home faced a $1.4 million shortage in MA reimbursement, compared to our actual costs for caring for our residents.
